Buss Returns to Lift UNI to Blowout Win
The UNI basketball team was able to snap a three-game losing skid last night as they defeated Loyola 80-58 at the McLeod Center. It took a while, but UNI took control of the contest late in the first half, as the Panthers rolled off an 11-2 run to close the half and take a 35-27 lead into the locker room. UNI continued to pour it on after the break, leading by double digits for the final eighteen minutes and eventually building a lead of as many as 24 points. The Panthers went as deep into their bench as they have in any other game this season, as eleven players scored at least a point, while five Panthers reached double figures. Nate Buss led the way with 18 points in his return to the UNI lineup after an injury kept him out of the last three games. Marvin Singleton and Matt Bohannon each contributed a dozen points as UNI moves to 6-7 in the Valley. The Panthers go back on the road this Saturday when they visit Missouri State.
