Panther Rally Falls Short at Drake
The UNI basketball teamís rally came up short in Des Moines last night. The Panthers trailed Drake by nineteen points with just eight minutes to play, but UNI fought back to close it to a one-possession game inside the final 90 seconds. Deon Mitchellís lay-in with 26 seconds left made it a one point game in favor of Drake, but the Panthers couldnít get a basket to fall to tie the game or take the lead. The Bulldogs made six out of eight free throws in the final thirty seconds to hold off UNIís rally and claim a 70-67 win. The loss drops UNI below the .500 mark both for the regular season and in Missouri Valley play. The Panthers will look to even things back up on Sunday when they host Illinois State.
