Quarterback Controversy Brewing in Ames

Iowa State's battle at quarterback has come down to the two most experienced players. Sophomore Grant Rohach and junior Sam Richardson are competing to become ISU's starting signal caller when the Cyclones open against North Dakota State.

That's Rohach, who has the advantage in terms of momentum. He started the final four games of 2013 and led the Cyclones to wins over Kansas and West Virginia.

Rohach says the key to earning the job will be limiting mental mistakes.

Junior Sam Richardson started the first eight games of 2013 and says consistency is the key.

Richardson struggled with injuries during a 3-9 campaign and views this season as a chance to start over.

The Cyclones open their season on August 30 against North Dakota State.
